This edition of my newsletter is unique among those I’ve shared with you over the course of the last year, and it will be the final issue for the 2023 calendar year. I’ve done this to highlight and release my 2022-23 Ward 2 Impact Report.
Too often, candidates run on platforms that never get revisited once they’re elected.
I presented a detailed platform to residents when I ran in 2022. It was informed by knocking on doors, listening to the needs of residents, and ensuring our collective values were reflected. Since then, I’ve been working to deliver on the commitments I made.
This Impact Report summarizes the results of my first year as your Ward 2 City Councillor. I will produce an Impact Report each year for the rest of this term.
As you may recall, my platform had 8 areas of focus - environmental stewardship, affordable housing, accountable leadership, safe neighbourhoods, dependable transit, community engagement, responsive services, and sustainable growth.
This Report provides updates on the actions taken and results achieved, to date, in each of those 8 areas.
I hope these achievements will inspire all of us to work together to make Ward 2, and our city, better.
It’s a difficult time in our community for many, but our ability to work together to weather these challenges is one of our greatest strengths.
I was elected to represent every single member of Ward 2 and I promised transparency, accountability, and honesty in all that I do.
I strive every day to make principled decisions on your behalf, supported by the outstanding Ward 2 Team, and I remain committed to honouring my commitments, every single day.
I want to thank all Ward 2 residents for their engagement, advice, and support. We’re building a better Ward 2, together.
